A well-spent 5-day holiday

Chinese holidays are quite different with the ones we have back home. Philippines usually have short holidays whereas here, it sometimes lasts for a few days up to a month (e.g. Chinese New Year).

Working in a language school, we sometimes don't follow the exact number of days for some of the holidays because we usually adjust to our students' holiday schedule in their regular schools. Schools in China like doing make-up classes. Whenever there's a holiday and there's no classes on those days, they make sure to have advance make-up classes for the kids. When regular schools do that, class schedule in our school gets affected. So we also need to adjust our schedule to make sure that we still stay on schedule.

Since we're expected to work on May 1st, the school decided to give us a 5-day holiday from April 26 - 30. The first day of our break, the Aston gang decided to go bowling and had dinner outdoors.

The next day, we met up again for dinner and movie night. One of the guys was able to download a Tom Cruise movie entitled Jack Reacher
On the third day, my husband and I decided to have a date. Nothing fancy, just a simple dinner at Subway. It's nice have a date once in a while to keep the love burning. Ha-ha!
The fourth day, which was a Monday, was quite memorable because Henry, a friend of ours, finally decided to propose to his long-time girlfriend. He had this plan of sending his girlfriend to a treasure hunt and we participated by handing out the clues to her. It was so romantic that I had to stop myself from crying when Henry finally popped the question (we were all witnesses to this affair). Way to go, Henry!
The last day of our break was quite uneventful. My husband and I spent it by doing the laundry and cleaning the house. We've been out of the house for the past few days that staying home and not doing much was a good way to end the holiday.
