Quick Barbecued Chicken

A friend of mine gave my husband and I a whole chicken so we decided to browse mom's cook book and decided to try a new recipe.

Here's an easy way to barbecue your chicken.

Ingredients:

2 chicken halves (in this case we used chicken thighs)
2 slices lemon, 2 tbsp vinegar
1 tsp garlic powder (but unfortunately we ran our of garlic powder so we weren’t able to include it in our marinade)
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper
1 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp sesame oil
Steps:
1. Preheat oven to 350 F (180 C). Rub chicken halves with lemon slice, combine the rest of the ingredients and rub chicken with mixture. Marinate 1 hour.

2. Roast chicken with the skin side down for 30 minutes, turn chicken over , skin side up, brush with marinade and increase oven temperature to 450 F (230 C); bake chicken for 30 minutes.

Preparation and cooking time: 1 hour, 10 minutes

3. Serve and have a hearty meal!

Not bad for a first time, right?
